NYC City Hall Elopement
sept 4, 2024
Natasha (Tash) & Joe journeyed from across the pond in Scotland to take a vacation in NYC, and what had originally started off as a plan for me to take their engagement photos evolved into them deciding to elope while they were here!
The day started at 7:30 AM with Will and I meeting T&J at the Roxy Hotel in SoHo where they greeted us by gifting us a bottle of scotch that they brought from home-truly the most thoughtful and generous people! We made our way to the city clerk office where they made it official. This was my first time shooting a city hall wedding, and it was surprisingly special—the energy of love and excitement at 141 Worth St. is palpable. I also had the honor of being their witness and signing their marriage certificate!
We then headed down to Brooklyn to take photos on the bridge and at pebble beach—forever iconic locations! From the view of the Manhattan Bridge on Washington Street, to Jane's Carousel and Time Out Market, Brooklyn Bridge Park has endless photo opportunities (side note: the Pad Thai from Wayla in Time Out is maybe the best I've ever had).
As our last stop of the day, we went to the iconic Paulie Gee’s in Greenpoint, where Tash and Joe introduced us to Mike’s Hot Honey and treated us to pizza and pints. Like I said, these were the best people ever! I am truly so blessed that I get to work with such lovely people and play a small roll in their love stories, and this day with Tash and Joe really reinforced to me why I love what I do.
This day was the first time my husband Will came with me to shoot Super 8 for a client (we added this in for free because I wanted him to practice). What he captured absolutely blew me away and after this day, I knew that Will was going to become an integral part of Film & Frond Photography.
